PixHorizon ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our photography platform, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data. By using PixHorizon, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

a) Information you provide

• Account details: Full name, username, and email address when you register.
• Profile information: Profile picture and bio that you optionally add in Settings.
• Uploaded photos: Images you upload along with associated metadata (title, category, description, location, tags).
• EXIF data (optional): Camera make/model, lens, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and date taken — only if you choose to include it when uploading.
• Communications: Messages you send us via the contact form.
• Comments: Text of comments and replies you post on photos.

b) Information collected automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, photos viewed, likes, and interactions with the Platform.
• Session data: Authentication tokens stored in secure HTTP-only cookies to keep you logged in.
• Analytics: Aggregated, anonymised data about Platform performance and traffic patterns via Vercel Analytics.

c) Third-party sign-in

If you sign in using Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google as permitted by your Google account settings. We do not receive your Google password.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Display your photographs and profile to other users of the Platform.
• Send transactional emails such as password-reset links.
• Respond to your support and contact requests.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or prohibited activities.
• Improve and optimise the Platform's performance and user experience.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted third-party services that help us operate the Platform (see Section 5). These providers process data only on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.
• Public profile data: Your username, display name, profile picture, and uploaded photos are visible to all visitors of the Platform by design.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

To operate the Platform, we work with trusted third-party service providers in the following categories:

• Database hosting: Stores your account details, photo metadata, and other Platform data securely in the cloud.
• Image storage and delivery: Hosts and serves the photographs you upload, optimised for fast global delivery.
• Authentication: Manages secure login sessions, including optional sign-in via Google.
• Email delivery: Sends transactional emails such as password-reset links on our behalf.
• Web hosting and analytics: Hosts the Platform and provides aggregated, anonymised performance insights to help us improve the service.

All service providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only process your data as instructed by us. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

PixHorizon uses secure, HTTP-only session cookies to authenticate logged-in users. These cookies are essential for the Platform to function correctly and do not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings; however, doing so will log you out of the Platform.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform's services. If you delete a photo, it is removed from our database and image storage. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at support@pixhorizon.com and we will process your request promptly.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These measures include industry-standard encryption for data in transit, secure password storage, restricted access controls, and regular review of our security practices.

Despite our efforts, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data, and you use the Platform at your own risk.

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update your account information at any time via the Settings page.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent: Delete your uploaded photos at any time from Portfolio Studio.

PixHorizon is intended for users aged 13 and above, as stated in our Terms & Conditions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with their personal data, please contact us immediately at support@pixhorizon.com and we will delete that information promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
